Phil Borges

United States, b.1942

For over 25 years Borges has been documenting indigenous and tribal groups from around the world. His work has been collected and exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, and his award winning books have been published in several languages. Borges' photographs aim to promote and preserve cultural diversity. Often focusing on endangered people, the images tap deeply into the human spirit of the subjects, with warm faces peering out from colorless landscapes.

Borges' work can be found in several collections such as, the Denver Art Museum; Los Angeles County Art Museum; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, CA; Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR.
